Marks and Spencers travel insurance

My husband and I originally purchased Marks and Spencers Annual Worldwide Joint Travel Insurance as we were due to go on a cruise and there was still a lot of media hype about swine flu and as the flight and cruise we had booked were not a package deal we wanted to be covered should either of us be stopped from travelling. This made us pay for the premier package over the standard package we would usually have taken out.

However 4 months later when we were on holiday in Malaysia, my Grandma unexpectedly passed away. After calling the helpline number on the policy they pretty much told myself and my husband to get ourselves on the most convenient flight home, pay ourselves, keep the paperwork and claim it all back on our return. And they were true to their word. Luckily we had a credit card that we could put the cost of the tickets on but before the statement payment date, we had been reimbursed practically every penny we were out of pocket. The only money they wouldn't refund was for one night in a hotel where we couldn't prove we had checked out early, losing us ?60, but this was minimal in the context of the amount of money it did cost us to get home.

Their customer service was excellent, there were no arguments at what was a stressful and upsetting time, they explained everything clearly and the reimbursement was made very quickly. We shall be purchasing the same insurance next time we go away.

Excellent customer service and no arguments at a sensitive time

Marks & Spencer provide travel insurance as part of individual internal deal

The travel insurance comes as part of a contributory deal whereby my wife pays money each month and receives free gifts and offers.

Good Value

Lose the free gifts if not taken within a specific time
