Free Insurance Competition Rules
(1) Rules
These terms together with any applicable notices on our website contain the rules (the Rules) governing competitions (the Competitions) advertised on our website at www.money.co.uk (the Website).
We run Competitions in relation to the following categories of insurance: car insurance, home insurance, pet insurance, travel insurance, and breakdown insurance.
When you enter a Competition, you will be specifically asked to agree to the Rules.
(2) Contact details
Competitions are organised money.co.uk (which is a trading name of Dot Zinc Limited of 2nd Floor, 16 Borough High Street, London SE1 9QG).
You can contact us in relation to any Competition by writing to the above address or by emailing us to competitions@money.co.uk.
We recommend that Competition entrants print off a copy of the Rules. A hard copy of the Rules may be obtained by sending a request, together with a stamped addressed envelope, to the above address.
(3) Entrants
You may only enter a Competition if you have purchased an annual insurance policy online from one of our affiliate insurers immediately after clicking on a hyperlink on the comparison table on the Website's competition pages (an Insurance Policy).
The online Competition entry form must be completed immediately after you purchase the Insurance Policy.
A maximum of one Competition entry per person per Insurance Policy is allowed.
You confirm that: (i) you are at least 18 years of age and have legal capacity to enter the Competition and agree to the Rules; (ii) all information submitted by you as part of a Competition entry is true, current and complete; (iii) you are permanently resident in the UK; and (iv) you are not an employee of money.co.uk, or a relative of an employee of money.co.uk.
(4) Competition entries
Competition start dates will be specified on the Website.
Competition entries must be received by us by the Competition closing date, which will be 2 months after the relevant Competition start date unless otherwise stated.
We do not accept responsibility for Competitions entries which are lost in transmission, arrive late, or are misdirected.
When you enter a Competition you will automatically generate an account with the Website, as a result of which you will receive insurance renewal reminders in respect of the Insurance Policy by email, as well as full access to the additional free services offered on the Website.
(5) Selection of winners
Each day one entrant will be chosen at random from amongst the entries to each Competition unless there are less than 10 entries to a Competition in a day, in which case no entrant will be chosen on that day, and all the entries made on that day will be treated as having been made on the following day.
These "Selected Entrants" will become prize winners if their entries are validated as detailed below.
If you are a Selected Entrant, we will contact you within 2 weeks of the Competition closing date, and request that you supply a copy of the insurance certificate for the Insurance Policy upon which your entry is based. If we do not receive a copy of this insurance certificate within 2 weeks of our request, or if the copy you provide does not match the details provided on your entry form and recorded on our server logs, you will not receive any prize. In these circumstances, the prize will not be awarded to any other entrant.
We will contact Selected Entrants who submit an insurance certificate by email within 1 week of receipt of the insurance certificate to confirm whether the prize award has been validated.
In the event that we are unable to contact a competition winner by email within one month of the date of the first email, the prize will be lost.
Decisions in relation to the award of a prize will be final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
Competition winners names and details of their prizes will in the normal course be published on our website within 2 weeks of the validation of the winner. By entering the Competition, you agree to provide us with all reasonable cooperation with obtaining media exposure in relation to the Competition.
(6) Prizes
Each prize will consist of money to the value of the first annual insurance premium payable by the prize winner in respect of the Insurance Policy upon which the entry is based.
Prizes which have been awarded and properly validated will be paid by cheque or bank transfer within 6 weeks of a Competition closing date. If a competition winner does not provide us with a postal address or bank details within this period, the prize will be lost.
All taxes, insurance and other expenses relating to a prize will be the sole responsibility of the prize winner.
(7) Disqualification
We may disqualify any entrant, and withhold any prize from any winner, if we have reasonable grounds to believe the entrant or winner has breached any provision of the Rules or otherwise behaved in an improper way in relation to the Competition.
(8) Liability
Nothing in the Rules will exclude our liability for death or personal injury as a result of our negligence or for any other liability which may not be excluded under applicable law.
Subject to this, we will not be liable in connection with any Competition, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, for any loss of profits, anticipated profits, revenues, anticipated savings, data, goodwill or business opportunity, or for any indirect, special or consequential loss or damage, or for any losses arising out of any event beyond our reasonable control.
(9) General terms
Personal data collected in connection with a competition will be used in accordance with our privacy policy.
We reserve the right to cancel a Competition (including the dates, times and locations of trials and other events) or to amend these Rules at any time without prior notice. Changes will be posted on the Website.
The Competition and the Rules will be governed by English law. Any disputes arising under or in relation to them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
