Transferred on Maturity:
After Certificates mature they earn interest at the variable 'General Extension Rate'. National Savings will also tell the investor what rates are on offer for the Issues on sale at the time. The investor can choose to:
- reinvest in any Issues on sale at the time, or
- leave the Certificate to earn interest at the General Extension Rate, or
- cash it in.
