Saving Flexibility

I chose this account as you have a reasonable interest rate yet you have access to your money if necessary. it was explained to me by the cashier In store and I thought it was suitable for my needs, I will review the rate of interest regularly as things change significantly in the market place and it pays to shop around frequently for better deals.

Easy access

interest rate not wonderful

Transfer of ISAs to The West Brom.

My wife and I decided to transfer our isas from another provider as The West Brom offered a better rate. My wifes transfer went ahead fine but mine proved to be very difficult for some reason and took an extra 10 days to complete. The Staff at the West Brom were excellent they continually contacted my old provider and phoned me when my funds had been received. I am very impressed with the West Brom and glad I came across them on the internet. Mike Smith.

WestBrom Building Society pays 4.1% (fixed) for 1 year on up to 3000

I have been saving ?250 per month in the WestBrom Regular Saver, so when my 12 months are up, I look forward to receiving interest at the fixed rate of 4.1% on all my contibutions. This seems to be one of only a few such stand-alone accounts on the market offering above 4%. The monthly amount saved - usually by standing order- can be varied at will between ?10 and ?250, and you can even miss a couple of months, if the need arises. Admittedly, no withdrawals are allowed during the 12 months, as if often the case with such accounts. Only one account per customer. However, there are a few other building societies which offer similar accounts, some currently paying as much as 5.0%, and I think they are all well worth having, provided you can afford to lock your cash away for up to a year ! The WestBrom has a telephone enquiry service - see "contact us" on their website - which I found helpful when I initially considered this account. When I applied back in June 2011, postal applications were allowed, but now you have to apply at a Westbrom branch. This is obviously a significant disadvantage for those of us more than a few miles from the nearest branch.

High and fixed interest rate of 4.1% for a year

Branch application only, Limited to 250 per month, and no withdrawals
