Travelex Prepaid Card

Use as a currency card whilst abroad on holiday. Great Service. Widely accepted worldwide which is handy for a traveller like myself. Reasonable rates for currency. A second card to share with friends / family - to use as a joint card. this card is Reloadable and therefore reuseable. Me and some of my friends transfer money onto the card and use it like a joint account for cash and for paying for things such as restaurant bills. Text messages are issued to let you know what your outstanding balance is which is great once you are coming towards the end of your budget.

Reloadable.

Travelex foreign currency cash card

I have held a Travelex cash card for many years and always use it to take euros on European EU trips. It is easy to load up, I usually call into Tesco and pay over cash withdrawn from the bank. Remember to check online for the best exchange rates and to ask Tesco to match them. Despite their advertised exchange rates they usually match the best rates shown online. It is a shame that Tesco surcharge the use of a debit card to load the cash on to the card.

Safe secure method of carrying cash abroad.

Must use the card within 24 months otherwise cash balance may be lost.

Higher rate of exchange than cash

Pre paid currency cards are ideal for using in the USA. Higher rate of exchange is offered and it is very easy to top them up. I was worried at first that outlets abroad would accept them but that was allayed very quickly. I have sent one over to the USA for my son to use and top it up here. It is safer than carrying cash and in respect of sending money the the USA, it is safer.

Pre paid card review

I wanted a card that would allow me to make payments to a company in France on a regular basis in Euros. I chose travelex because at the time it was one of the most competitive rates for transferring sterling into Euros . The card itself works really well and it's easy to top up however it only lasts for a certain period of time and you have to renew the card I didn't renew my card and so wasn't able to transfer any money my only options were to take out a new card which was impossible to do on the Internet or to pay a huge fee to have the Euros that were left on my card put back into my bank account. I liked the card but I don't like the customer service.

Travelex foreign currency prepaid cards

I have used Australian dollar and euro cards from Travelex and they are excellent as you don't need to worry about carrying cash. They work no problem from ATMs so it just feels like you are withdrawing from a current account but there are no charges for withdrawing cash abroad, you can even use the card in shops and restaurants. I think there is a charge for this but is is minimal compared to credit cards. I find them really useful and they are secure as you set your pin number like you would a debit card.

safe and easy

exchange rate when preloaded so dont benefit from exchange rate move
