Refusing to reimburse my money taken and being held on prepaid card!

I applied for a Post Office prepaid card, but the prepaid card would not activate, and they could not activate it in time for my holiday, so I asked for my initial deposit back before I went. 4 weeks later and the Post Office are still refusing to reimburse my money despite contacting them numerous times, and giving them all manner of documents to release the money to resolve this! I had to go with another company for a prepaid card which they supplied instantly and with no hassle at all! The amount is tiny but it goes to show how much they care about your concerns and queries! I would never recommend them!

Clunky and pitiful performance

Being unable to purchase a Post Office prepaid money card at my local branch, I purchased, registered and activated one online but when I first attempted to access my account online the money card website failed miserably to recognise the username, password, etc., that I had registered.

I am still awaiting an email reply from customer support. So, I thought I would load the card in the meantime at my local branch but they cannot do so! This pitiful and clunky performance came from an allegedly national network. So, if you are considering a Post Office money card, I would think very carefully and ask lots of questions before spending any money. As for me, I am looking at the other providers of prepaid credit cards.

Fantastic loved the Travel money card

The hardest part of the card is understanding setting it up! My local post office even invited me back the next day to do it with me. They set me up on the mobile app and I topped up when I was away. I could log in to check my balance and I even topped up more when I got paid. I only used the Euro card but I never found anywhere that wouldn't accept it. It's like anything buy it of the right person and that makes the product work! I'm saving up now for my next holiday on it too !

cheaper than my bank to withdraw cash

setting up can get tricky

Exhorbitant charges for their mistake - appalling service

We rang the Post office 2 days before going to South Africa to inform them we were going, Whilst in South Africa (after 2 days) the post office fraud department rang and left a text message on my mobile as well as telephoning our home address (even though they had been notified that we were away in South Africa) and leaving an answer machine message to say someone in South Africa had used our card (this made our daughter panic stricken). I was told to ring them immediately otherwise my card would be stopped. It cost us £27 in telephone calls to rectify this, even though the phone contact admitted it was on the system and was their fault. We wrote and complained, they said if we had not had the complaint resolved within 8 weeks we could contact the ombudsman. On the last day of the 8th I received saying it was in their terms and conditions to query a payment! They agreed - as a gesture of goodwill - they would give us £25 .
