Regardless of which manufacturer's banner you wave, there's no doubt that smart phones have some brilliant (and not so brilliant) applications going for them. There are many we just can't live without, and over the last couple of years some of the more innovative apps fall under the money and time saving categories.

Whether for business or casual use, we have played with hundreds of such apps in an effort to find the greatest among them. Here's ten of the best for each of the three main smart phones - all are UK-friendly, and we have based our impartial reviews purely on the personal experiences of the team rather than the most popular by downloads or price (though the vast majority of them are incredibly cheap, if not free).
