Lost loan agreement! Terrible service!

After I considered all factors I decided to go ahead with a nationwide loan, which I greatly regret.

I handed my loan agreement into my local branch to avoid any post delays. The woman in the branch assured me the money would be in my account Wednesday, which was verified by a phone call from nationwide the next day. By Friday I still did not have the money. When I called to ask why I was told they had not received my loan agreement, which was extremely frustrating as I know they did receive it! I had to go down to the branch at my own cost and ask them to fax the agreement again- Something they should have done 5 days ago without me having to tell them to! The money is still not in my account so I have had to pay for a car out of mine and my parents ISA accounts, which means we will lose interest on our savings. Complaints department were highly patronising and useless.

I will never use nationwide again!

Nationwide loans

I have a Nationwide loan which they were very willing to give me because I already have my mortgage with Nationwide. I was disappointed that the rate which they offered was much higher than the advertised rate when I applied, even though my credit rating is very good. They said that I would qualify for a lower rate if I had a Nationwide Flex account, but I was not prepared to move my current account to them just for that reason. So I accepted the higher rate but in hindsight I probably should have shopped around a bit more. It's slightly cheaper than a credit card but not much.

easy application process if you have a Nationwide mortgage

Nationwide Flex account customer personal loan

I looked on a price comparision website to see what personal loan offers were available - Nationwide came out near the top especially as I was a flex account customer which gave me a slightly better deal that someone without this type of account. The application process was quick and easy to follow and the decision was given in minutes. The money was in my account with in 24 hours. I've not had any reason to use customer services for this loan but in general I've always been happy with Nationwides response time and helpfulness.

Better interest due to being a Nationwide Flex account customer

Better interest offer is limited to Nationwide Flex account customers

Nationwide loans rubbish

Applied for a loan with nationwide. 3 weeks on and they still want more supporting documentation. Just tired! And on atop you have to deal with rude branch mangers. Stay away, do not waste your time on them and spoil credit file with their numerous credit searches. Lena , London
