Great product, for the price when purchased using a Nectar card and a cashback website (Quidco).I paid £350 for a Sainsburys Premier home insurance policy with no excess !
The only drawback I found when compared to my previous John Lewis policy is the stingy £500 limit on the home emergency section.Otherwise for the price it is fantastic value !

I had hoped to never need to contact a home insurance company, but when my house got burgled yesterday, they stole some money, my laptop and my watch and damaged my door with a shovel. I've never made an insurance claim for anything, so I had expected a lengthy process and a full-on quiz and them to think up every technicality not to pay out. Within 10 minutes of calling Sainsbury's helpline, I had received funds for my money and my watch, and within a few hours I'd had a call from an IT company telling me a better model of Macbook Air was being shipped and would be with me within a few days. A glazier has already been to my house to assess the damage (they had asked if I needed one sooner but I could secure it myself) and this will be fixed within a few days. Overall I could not ask for more, perfect service and friendly staff there at a horrible time when you expect an insurance company to ask a load of awkward questions to get out of paying. Would definitely recommend, brilliant!

I renewed with Sainsburys Bank because they offered one of the better premiums and also allow me to pay monthly without charging extra interst.

After purchasing a policy at Sainsburys home insurance, I had some concerns about the policy terms and conditions in relation to my environment, so I emailed them expecting a prompt reply.And that was more than 85 hours ( 4 days ) ago !! Even though the online form stated I would receive a reply within 48 hours.I know Sainsburys is mainly a supermarket and insurance is not exactly its niche market.But I think "if you cant stand the heat,get outta the kitchen" - this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced - one where I cant even get a written reply !

got hocked in by fair price and features, e.g that i could choose my excess, but when it came to making a claim all the small print and undisclosed details have left me in a mess with high excess to pay!
