LV=home insurance without the hassle!

I have had home insurance (buildings and contents) with Liverpool Victoria for many years. I don't auto-renew; I shop around to make sure I get the best deal each year. However, I find myself coming back to LV each time because their quotations can't be beaten, on a like-for like basis, at least for my circumstances. That's all very well for the quote, but what about the service when something goes wrong? Well, I've only ever had to make one claim, and that was for contents away from the home. They accepted my explanation immediately without query, and the cheque arrived in the post within a few days. Admittedly, it was a small claim - I hope I never have to try them out with a big one!

Quote process is not transparent...and unethical maybe?

Went through the on-line facility for a home insurance quote - my first experience with LV. I was about to take out the policy when I spotted a link to security conditions. I had said that I did not have a burglar alarm and yet the condition was that I needed one. This was not highlighted to me. Chatted on-line & was told that they would have issued the policy to me, in case I was planning to have an alarm fitted. Effectively, that means that I would have been uninsured until that point. In my view, this shows no transparency & indeed I would say is unethical behaviour. Shame on LV

Lv building and contents insurance

I have been with this mutual insurer for a considerable number of years. On a like for like basis they are cheaper than all other companies that I have enquired with. Only on odd occasions have another insurer beaten their quote and then it is because there is a reduced premium for the first year which later reverts to a higher figure than I would pay with LV. I cannot speak for any claims experience as I have never had to make any claim.

LV Home Insurance

Arranged home policy with LV through my local Broker - Gomm Insurance. LV offer competitive premiums and with Gomms looking after my business if I ever have a problem I just call them or pop into their office. Good to have a broker in the event of a claim as at least you have someone on your side and you are not battling with the Insurer directly

Really poor customer support. They will look for any loophole to invalidate your policy when you try to claim.
