Another week and yet another story about the recession is dominating the front pages but, for the first time in what seems like a very long time, it's not all doom and gloom! For once they're actually giving us a small slice of optimism.
The reason for this rather unusual sanguinity is because a large and reputable survey of business professionals has suggested that the UK economy may break free from the recession's grip as soon as September this year.
The research, carried out by The Institute of Chartered Accountants found that confidence among business professionals has grown significantly over the past few months; something they take to be a very positive sign. On an even more refreshing note they predicted that the UK economy will grow by 0.5% in the third quarter of 2009!
We'll have to wait until the end of September to find out how the UK's economy is actually faring and, while moving from recession to growth won't mean an instant return to 'the way things were', it's definitely a step in the right direction. Rest assured that we'll be keeping you up to date as and when the official news breaks.
Finally a big thanks again to all of you who got in touch with stories for the BBC's Cash Mob last week - I hope they managed to give you some useful advice in return!
