E.ON provide business and home electricity and also provide prepayment meters for some homes. Their energy plans include variable tariffs that can go up or down as well as tariffs that are fixed for a year or more. They offer discounts if you agree to paperless billing and submit meter readings online or by phone, as well as if you have both your gas with them as well as electricity. Their E.ON Reward Points scheme gives you points that can be exchanged for high street vouchers or Tesco Clubcard points.

We have been very happy with EON for the last couple of years, we changed to them from Scottish Power to save money and managed to do that quite well, the bonus of Tesco points on top was equally well appreciated. We can easily change our direct debit payments and they do not argue if we are rather a lot in credit for getting our money back.

Easy to stay in control of direct debits

I had to stick with the company that my previous house owners had used due to the meters they had in the house and the fact I'd had to pay to swap them over, I have EON for gas and electricity and don't feel I'm gaining anything from duel fuel benefits. My bills just seem to be getting higher even though I don't feel I have high usage amounts, oven once a day, electrical items a few hours in the evenings. Would not really recommend, will definitely be looking elsewhere when I can.

Electricity seems very expensive to me but I have to say I have no idea if I have value for money compared to other providers. The customer services are helpful and they do accept self read meter readings as I am not in when the meter reader comes around. They will always tell you exactly what you owe them at any given time if you phone them with updated meter readings and allow you to alter direct debit payments when you phone them. They offer a discount if you pay by direct debit and an extra discount if they provide you with both gas and electricity .

It has consistently been the cheapest deal on the market for pre-paid and customer service has been excellent. I have lost the key twice and each time the engineer came out to my rather rural address within 2 hours.

Consistently the cheapest on the market.

They charge me for electricity, don't seem to be pro-actively selling me anything or attempting to improve my usage, so just a standard boring supplier.

Don't bother me with nuisance calls

Don't help me optimise my usage

E.on have a great website. Once you have set up your account you can input meter readings and it calculates what you have used and what your next bill will cost. It shows a year on year graph of your consumption and shows if you have used more or less than the previous year.

I am registered with E.ON as "At Risk" due to being Gulf War disabled. The company does what it say's in it's television adverts and keep's me fully informed about my electricity account. Their welfare officers have visited me at home to make sure that I am on the right tariff and what my special needs are in case of an emergency with my electrical supply.
