Metro Bank - A New Bank?

One of the hardest banks to open an account. Requires two forms of official address verification and ID. Lloyds or Nationwide, for example, require just ID. Challenged as to why I was opening an account 200 miles from my home address. First impressions count, so I left at that point.

For those suffering real difficulties with their accounts refer the issue to the Financial Services Ombudsman. Go to the FSO website and check that it is something that the FSO can deal with. A referral to the FSO costs the bank £500, irrespective of fault, and tends to get the bank's attention.

I've given up with Metro

For the past week I have been unable to speak to anyone and I have not even had any call back, I've closed my account and gone with Co-Op.

Metro have many issues with the customer service aspect, but maybe this is due to it been so new but they have to soon iron these problems out.

I hope they sort these problems out as my mum is also thinking of leaving Metro

Worst bank ever

I have nothing but problems with this bank. Like clockwork, every month since August an unpaid item charge appears on my account. Problem is, every single unpaid charge is for something that's been paid. Every month I have to call, sit on hold for over 10 minutes for them to look into what it's for, to be told they have to email someone else to find out, and that someone will get back to me at some point in time. Most times when I call, I get hung up on while on hold, so I have to call 3+ times and all I'm doing is repeating myself over and over. I have never been able to call customer service for anything at all, and have it dealt with in an appropriate timeframe. They aren't competitive with anything they offer. The one thing that made this nightmare worth it was being able to use my debit card in the US for free, now that's gone, there is not one thing that makes this bank worth joining. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else.

Total disappointment

i have learnt that The reason banks are boring and dull is because they are focusing on getting your banking sorted not trying to be flash! These guys really have no concept of how valuable time is to people. I wasted a whole day with these jokers trying to get an account open! They have serious training issues. Great for dogs and plenty of space for the kids to run around.you get free pens and lollipops too!

They have an in store wc great for while they keep you waiting

card stolen no support from metro

My wallet was stolen recently I instantly phone Metro at around 22:00hrs to cancel my card, but I was informed all qualified advisors where taking calls.

I gave my details to be called back which Metro did 3 hours later at 01:00hrs when I and my family where fast asleep and woke my babies up, by this time over 30 purchases had been made on my card. Thanks Metro Bank! I'm now looking to move my account elsewhere.
