Great internet banking facility and really helpful on phone and in branch. The internet banking is second to non you can move funds around accounts and make payments with ease and check up the minute your balance to prevent over spending. I would recommend to anyone even with limited internet experience its a great service. I am yet to experience any problems with Halifax

We are all sick of the 'big' banks. Quite apart from the selfish behaviour they have displayed recently my experience of them has left a nasty taste in my mouth. The Halifax are a totally different set up. They don't leave traps for you to fall into and charge you masses for sending you letters instead they treat you as a customer.

I currently have the Halifax Reward Account, which gives me £5 reward every month as long as I pay in a minimum of £750 and hold two direct debits. This is quite simple to understand, and I like receiving the same monthly sum rather than annual interest as it means I can budget accordingly. The customer service in-branch was fantastic - I was talked through the various options and really felt like my needs were listened to. I'm also a very big fan of the quality of their on-line banking service linked to this - really easy to navigate and understand. Highly recommended.

Good product - has lots of good points ie pays £5 a month to you if you put your salary in to it. You do have to have 2 direct debits coming out but this is fairly easy to arrange. They have a good account changing service which will do everything for you. They also give you £100 when you open your account or move from another bank.

I transferred my main current account having been with my previous current account for decades. It was the £100 cash back offer that tempted me over to the other side :) The transfer itself was painless. I was a bit worried, as I had heard some fairly negative reviews. But all was well, and speedy. I also upgraded my account to take advantage of their '£5 reward every month' offer, so am pretty happy. The only thing I think they are a bit sly on is steep overdraft fees. As a result, I'm more than paranoid about going overdrawn, and check my account daily at least once!

I find the £5 a month I get with my reward current account a fantastic and generous bonus. The charges for going overdrawn are fair and not as high as other banks I've been with. I like using the app on my phone for banking and find the internet banking system user friendly. I have not had to call customer service so cannot comment on that aspect of the bank but that may be a good thing as I've not had any complaints to make or questions to ask.

Upon getting a mortgage with Halifax, I moved current account to them. The move went smoothly with Halifax sorting out the majority of this. I had an appointment that took about 30 minutes to set this up with all the features that I needed and I even got cashback for switching. Their online facility is simple to use however unlike some of the other banks you cannot send them an online message to contact them about your account. This is the one factor that I miss. The package comes with a range of features including phone insurance and travel insurance, the only issue is that it is just for the account holder rather than anyone else in the household as some others are. Overall it is quite a simple account, easy to use and I haven't any major problems. Some other packages do feature a few better options however it is a great bank, in lots of location.

I like banking with Halifax due to the simplicity of using their online banking system. Other banks I have been with have provided me with some small gadget that needs to be used whenever I want to log on. I understand that this can be seen as an additional security feature, but when I am not at home and want to access my account, this is just annoying. I also like the idea of receiving £5 a month, regardless on the account balance. As interest rates are so low at the moment, trying to rely on these for any decent interest income is not worth your while, whereas with £5 a month, you know exactly what you will be getting and so can factor it into your budgeting. It would be nice if higher interest rates were available, which would entice me to keep my money in a savings account here.

The Halifax current account is good. You get all the normal services you would expect from a company part of the Lloyds banking group: nice online banking facilities, Faster Payment, Visa debit card with contactless technology and a vast branch network in case you actually need to see someone in the flesh. If you credit your account with your salary every month, have at least 2 active direct debits and do not let your account go overdrawn, you get a nice £5 credit in your current account the following month. What's not to like?
