Egg Card Repayment Protection Policy - The insurer will pay a monthly benefit should the cardholder become unemployed or unable to work due to accident or sickness (disability) after the start date. If they should die, the insurer will pay the lesser of the outstanding balance and their credit limit. Cover under this policy is subject to the following terms, conditions and exclusions.

Provided the cardholder has paid the premium each month, this policy covers them until the first of the following occurs:-

- The agreement is terminated, or
- They cancel their Egg Card, or
- They reach the normal retirement age at their place of work or state retirement age, whichever is earlier, or
- They reach 65 years of age, or
- Their death.
- Termination of this policy

Monthly benefit means an amount equivalent to 10% of the outstanding balance or 10% of the credit limit or £1500, whichever is the lesser.

Unemployment
If policy holder has been made unemployed after the start date and the unemployment lasts for at least 30 consecutive days, the insurer will pay in arrears a monthly benefit or the equivalent pro rata daily amount for each additional calendar day of unemployment. Each payment of monthly benefit will be credited to their Egg Card account. No payment will be made in respect of any period covered by a payment in lieu of notice or for the 30 days immediately after this period.

The insurer will make a maximum of 12 monthly benefit payments for each period that the policy holder are unemployed. They will need to provide the insurer with acceptable proof that they are still unemployed throughout their claim. Periods of unemployment separated by less than six consecutive months will be treated as one continuous claim. Any benefits will cease on the date they return to work or when 12 payments of monthly benefit have been made. If the maximum number of payments of monthly benefit are made in respect of any one claim, they will not be able to claim again under this policy for unemployment until they have been back to work for a period of at least six consecutive months.

Accident & Sickness
If the policy holder is unable to work due to a disability and the disability lasts for at least 30 consecutive days, the insurer will pay in arrears a monthly benefit or the equivalent pro rata daily amount for each additional calendar day that they remain disabled. Each payment of monthly benefit will be credited to their Egg Card account.

The insurer will make a maximum of 12 monthly benefit payments for each period that they are disabled. They will need to provide the insurer with acceptable proof that they are disabled throughout their claim. Periods of the same disability separated by less than six consecutive months will be treated as one continuous claim. Any benefits will cease on the date they return to work or when 12 payments of monthly benefit have been made. If the maximum number of payments of monthly benefit are made in respect of any one claim, they will not be able to claim again under this policy for the same disability until they have been back to work for a period of at least six consecutive months or for a different disability until they have been back to work for a period of at least one month.

Life Cover
If the policy holder dies during the term of this policy the insurer will pay the lesser of the outstanding balance (including up to four months arrears) or the credit limit. The Insurer will need proof of age and death.

The maximum amount payable under this policy in the event of death will be £15,000.collapse

Free personal travel accident insurance:

Pay for all or part of the fare using the Egg Card and the cardholder will have the benefit of free personal travel accident insurance. This valuable protection pays a lump sum if they, their partner or their dependant children suffer accidental death or serious injury while travelling.collapse

The cardholder must pay the full oustanding balance if it is less than £5, but otherwise the greater of

2% of the Revolving Balance or

the total of (i) interest billed on the statement on the Revolving Balance
(ii) 1% of the Revolving Balance
(iii) any Card Repayment Protection premium shown on your statement and
(iv) billed fees for late or returned payments shown on your statement,

or £5

plus for Transfered Balances made during any promotional periods the greater of

2% of the Transferred Balance, or the total of

(i) interest billed on the statement on the Transferred Balance and
(ii) 1% of the Transferred Balance,
