Payment protection cover is available as an option.
In the event of the cardholder being unable to work through accident or sickness for 30 consecutive days, the account will be credited with 10% of the balance outstanding on the last statement date before they were unable to work (up to a maximum of £1,000). This sum will continue to be credited monthly to the account until the sickness or unemployment ends, 12 monthly payments have been made or either the outstanding balance or credit limit have been paid in full, whichever comes first.
If the cardholder dies or are diagnosed with a critical illness, the outstanding balance on the card (up to the credit limit or a maximum of £25,000) will be paid off.
The applicant must be aged between 18 and 64, working for at least 6 consecutive months before the start of the insurance and must be resident in the United Kingdom. When they reach the age of 65 or retire the cover automatically changes to death (accidental death after 65), permanent and total disability (due to an accident) and hospitalisation (due to an accident).
