Vanquis were only one of two credit cards that would provide me with the service due to a period of bad credit at university. Obviously I had to pay a premium for the service but at a time when I needed credit I was happy that they could oblige. I managed to pay a lot more than the minimum payment and the card was paid off fairly quickly meaning that the interest didn't have as huge an impact as it could have had.
The Vanquis credit card is great for people who need to build or rebuild a credit history (either because they have never had credit or because they need to repair a damaged credit file). The APR is horrendous and the credit limit is low but as long as you use it sensibly, it does your credit rating a world of good. Use it to pay for your purchases within the credit limit and repay in full every month to avoid interest charges.
In no time you will be able to apply and be approved for a mainstream credit card.
As someone with low credit rating, vanquis has been very useful to me. I would challenge how easy it was for me to be accepted as someone with a low rating is most likely to be someone who would struggle to keep up with repayments.
The customer service has always been on point. Very swift answering, and always helpful.
The even helped me out a number of times when went over my limit and refunded my charges.
Very easy to apply and you can even get it on low credit score when no one else is giving you a chance
They give you credit raise very quickly so you know your building up your credit score fast
Payments are set up direct so no falling behind on payments ,like all the other credit cards
Customer service are very helpful and will give advice on how to get better score for your credit
Applied not thinking I'd be accepted, but qualified for a card - received promptly with PIN number - very straightforward. Customer service quick and helpful, online management of account easy, and includes repayment option plan, that enables control and protects your credit rating - this includes account freeze, payment holiday, payment reminders and overlimit alerts. So far, all goes well.
