Must have for holidays

I have had a PO credit card for some years as it is one of the few cards that don't charge commission when using abroad. It's the only one I take on holiday or to purchase something on line in currency other than sterling. You need to tell them where and when you are going so they know it's you using it. Remember to pay in the currency of the country you are in - don't let them do the exchange for you to pay In sterling - and I have always been pleasantly surprised when I receive my CC statement - often it is cheaper than I expected. I always pay it in full too - no point if you are going to be charged interest for paying off the minimum, so only use if you can afford to pay off in full.

A great card for holidays etc., with no extra charges for use abroad.

I took out this card after reading how good it is to use abroad as it doesn't charge any extra for this use. I pay off as soon as I return to the UK and it is perfect for me as my husband and I travel often. We also use the card to order foreign currency from the Post office for local collection. A useful second credit card that we keep only for travelling as it does exactly what it says it will with no nasty hidden extra costs!

Good card spoiled by dreadful customer service

Good credit card for travelling since you don't pay charges for using it in other currencies, but the customer service is awful. When trying to contact them by phone they are invariably busy, which is to be expected; but getting through and then being put on hold and forgotten about is not acceptable - particularly when it happens more than once. As for trying to raise an enquiry via their website contact box, you might as well send a note up the chimney for Santa Claus!

Post office credit card great for holidays

I applied for the Post Office card as I understand it to be one of the better cards to use abroad. It was a simple application process very little hassle and arrived quickly. I now use the card on all of my trips abroad without a hitch, but always make sure I let them know the date I will be travelling and the destination to avoid any issues whilst away. The customer service has always been really helpful and offer the best advice on how to make payments with the card.

Post Office Credit Card

With the Post Office Credit there are no charges for purchases made overseas, unlike most other credit cards, so it ideal for while you are travelling.

This credit card was recommended to me by a friend.

I have not had reason to call Customer Service, but obtaining the credit card was a complicated process. Even though I went to the post office in person and the clerk there checked my application, it came back to me twice seeking further information before the card was issued.
