The card doesn't charge a fee for foreign transactions.

The card doesn't charge a fee for foreign transactions. I find this is a great advantage as I find the additional fees other cards charge really put up the cost of foreign spending when I am on holiday. The card works just like any other card. It has the usual free interest if you pay off your balance in full. You can operate your card through the internet banking, which has a very complicated log in security procedure. If you don't have a mobile phone, or a good connection and want to make a large purchase you may have problems as the ring you on your given number to give you a security code to enter. Great security but can be a problem in hilly countryside like Cornwall or Northumberland.

Halifax clarity card

The clarity card is probably the best credit card I've had to date. As someone who goes abroad a couple of times a year the free cash withdrawals is a fantastic perk. This is a rare benefit these days and the savings really add up. Previously withdrawing cash could cost a couple of percent which could be significant on longer holidays.

Halifax Credit Card

There was a problem changing my address and this resulted in a block being put on my card, I was asked to take ID and proof of address to my local branch which I did, the ladies there were really helpful but could not resolve the issue, said they would escape to their head office to be resolved, they contacted am about a week later apologising this was still unresolved. I the rang Halifax who could not help but put me through to the local branch, Lisa at the branch was again in the process of trying to get this sorted she promised she would go to a higher level with the complaint and would call me back with an answer. She rang back within an hour and said she now had it resolved and offered apologies for this taking so long and also I would be compensated for the calls and an amount of £50 for the inconvenience, I was very surprised at this as I felt sure she had not forgotten about the problem and would get it sorted for me. True to her word the money arrived in my bank account. I would like to thank Lisa in the Cirencester branch for the way she dealt with everything on my behalf and the manager who assisted in resolving the issue and recognising customers are important to them. Halifax should be proud to have people in branch that are polite friendly and continue to work to resolve issues on behalf of customers as often when you walk away you are forgotten about and to continually chase.

Good rate, great customer service

Halifax Credit Card Review

I have a Halifax Clarity Credit Card. It is an excellent card to take abroad with you as it has no charges or commission on purchases and you get an excellent exchange rate. It can also be used to withdraw cash whilst abroad also. My daughter is an additional cardholder and she finds it very useful as she travels the world with her University which is based in Abu Dhabi.

No charges on purchases and an excellent exchange rate

Halifax Credit card

I got this one specifically for travel abroad, the zero commission on foreign currency transactions makes for a significant saving on a holiday.

Easy online application process, and once the account is open the online account management is fine too. I can't comment on customer service as there haven't been any issues yet which required me to contact them

No fees for foreign currency transactions
