I have been with the bank for roughly 16 years. More recently I have been given conflicting information over the phone as to what I'm told in the branch and ended up having to make several complaints, more so in the past few years. The service has put me off and I am considering changing banks. The issues have been simple really with more recently updating my address. Shouldn't be hard in this day and age.

I have had various RBS accounts through the years. RBS is the financial rock most of Britain is built on. My current account is built into a mortgage product that used to belong to Virgin and was sold to RBS. I love my current account as it feeds my mortgage (beast) and suites my needs. RBS staff members are helpful - what more can we ask for.

This cheque account is linked to my mortgage - a current account mortgage and is great for checking monthly how I am doing in paying off my mortgage each month. Customer Service was 24/7 but now close at 8pm. They have been and continue to be courteous, friendly and really provide an excellent service. A yearly review on my mortgage too - all in one place.

Mortgage and current account in one place.

The % rate could be less making payment off quicker!

It was hassle free when changing banks. I get advice on how to get the best for my savings. They are also local and have very friendly staff. I had been with previous bank for over 30 years but was becoming very unhappy with the way I was being treated. Decided to move. Everything was done very efficiently. They did everything for me. All I had to do was sign some papers and everything was done. The customer service has been first class.

The RBS has always treated me fairly in all my dealings with them. They helped me with a good overdraft facility & are always trying to get me to review my account to make it work better for me. The staff are always friendly & try their best to be accommodating. Lunch times can be a pain as staff numbers drop. On the whole they seem a good company to trust with my money 7 have always given good advice

I hold a Royalties Gold account with Royal Bank of Scotland (and have held this account for approximately 18 years). At the time there was a branch located very close to me, however I have since moved and my nearest branch is several miles away. Having said that, it is rare that I have needed to visit a branch in person. Their internet banking is excellent, as is their 24/7 telephone banking service. The Royalties Gold account provides many benefits including mobile phone cover, breakdown cover, worldwide family travel insurance, discounted flights/holiday booking service, and several more. Despite various criticisms of RBS in the press over the past few years, I personally have always been very happy with their customer service & products/services.

It's ok but unexciting. It's just a place to put your money and watch it do nothing. I've had it for a long time and when I was first with them I had some money problems and they were very very good at helping me out. Now I'm settled and on a financial even keel, it's not really enough. I need to change it to something that pays interest.

They don't keep calling and trying to sell you stuff

It doesn't make my money work.

RBS has had a lot of bad press but when it comes to its current account, this is unwarranted. The current account does everything that you want. There is a online banking facility which allows you to pay bills directly. The online service is generally available all day every day. RBS is adding functionality all the time - only today I discovered that I am able to access all of my statements for the past seven years online.

It does what it says it will

I've had my current account for over 10 years with RBS and have not had any significant issues with them during this time. I use both online and telephone banking and always find the customer service support satisfactory. My app on my phone allows me to quickly check my balance, and I can transfer money easily to regular payees. whenever I need to visit a branch I never have to spend long in a queue and alwasy find the service good. Recently Overdraft bank changes have changed which means I get charged a fixed amount as soon as I enter into the red. I have been used to having a small free overdraft and find this new approach frustrating.
