I have been a member for years and if ever I have any query or visit the bank the service is really good and the staff are friendly. The locations are convenient to everyone. They were really helpful when my mother passed away to sort her account without any further distress to the situation which could have been upsetting going through issues etc,

Friendly service

I have different savings account with Halifax which I have always been happy with. Even though sometimes they don't have the best rates compared with other banks, I am happy to stay with them due to the fact that all of my accounts are with them and I know that I get good customer service whenever I go to my local brink in Broughty Ferry.

I'd definitely recommend Halifax to anyone looking for a simple and fruitful savings account. The staff in my local branch (Angel, Islington, London) were wonderfully helpful and friendly and talked me through all my available options, making recommendations after thoroughly listening to my needs. The interest rate on my savings was fair and the money is easy enough to access if I need it in an emergency. The product is definitely worth taking up, and Halifax are a great bank to save with.

Halifax easy access savings accounts aren't the worst or the best of what is available out there. The saving rate is so low, it is barely worth putting your money in the bank! But it is convenient to keep a small slush fund within easy reach, just in case you need your savings out of the blue. I applied for the account straight from my online banking screen, it was very straight forward and I got approval immediately. All you need to do is to credit the account with a pound to make it active. I'd recommend this account if you are already a Halifax current / checking account customer, this works well with easy access using online banking. Otherwise you may want to look for something a little bit more rewarding for your capital.

Simple to use, easy to transfer online between current accounts and savings accounts if you hold a Halifax account. Big limit to the amount you can put in, it doesn't gain much interest but nothing does these days. There is a Halifax competition that if you have over £5,000.00 in savings you can enter each month. I set it up easily online and within a few minutes, there were lots of choices and you could find out more to see which is the best to suit your need. It was set up straight away. There are lots of different choices for savings accounts so it would probably have been better to have spoken to their customer service to find out which was best for my situation but I have no problems with the account that I have and it was so simple to set up that the ease outweighs anything else. The quick transfer in between accounts is great however there wasn't any documents or paper trail sent across.

Easy and simple to set up

swapped account from Santander after a list of problems - money going missing etc. Halifax took my details and swapped everything for me - nice and simple very little hassle, dealt with Santander for me, dealt with all direct debits - couldn't have been easier. all requested dealt with i.e. a cheque book - do you know how hard it is to find a bank that still offers a cheque book on a new account

monthly thank you

Halifax has always offered some good products. I had a 4 year ISA which paid out 4% this year and they have a regular savings account that pays 2% At a time when no one wants to pay much interest they are certainly worth checking out. Plus Halifax is a friendly bank to deal with, if i have ever needed to ring them i have received the information i need to know in a timely manner.

Rewarding account?

I use this as my main account. The account is sufficient, however there is not much flexibility. Telephone customer service is good, but they are quite rigid, so, don't expect any favours, especially if you need a temporary overdraft. Even £10 is asking too much!! They are better than my previous bank and assisted in transferring direct debits but wouldn't help with standing orders!! They also needed chasing to get the account set up properly, so, there was initially a delay of over a week. They took the information by phone and advised they would write to invite me into the branch, but, this didn't happen. I had to call and arrange things myself. Internet banking is very good, you can get most things done online without much hassle or the need for a card reader- which is great. It is also a mobile enabled site so you don't need to download an app if you don't want to. If you're not expexting too much from your current account provider and you do not need any additional support then this will work for you.
