I opened a FFrees account mainly because it was free compared to other companies that offer no credit check accounts such as think money and card one banking. I was impressed at the look of the website and was intrigued by their savings plans. I thought this could be good compared to my regular bank. I heard that some serious business investors have dumped 2 million pounds into the project and with the FSA passing regulations regarding e-money I thought it would be relatively safe...however last night I transferred some money into my ffrees account for the first time. I got up at 4.50am and thought I'd check my balance to see if the money had credited? To my concern the website is offline and the time is now 7 am and its been offline for two hours! I really hope they haven't gone to the wall already...Not really a credible service for someone wanting to act as a banker/financier.

Its free to open and account, no credit check

system failures, renamed/rebranded dissolved trading name/company

This account is free and it helps me save up. Their service is good too. I REALLY LIKE THE IDEA OF SPENDING and SAVING UP. This is unique as far as I can tell. Clever. I have already got a saving pit of £73 which I can cash out when I want. The account came with a VISA debit card, and it looks really smart, not tacky and cheap like so many other cards. And I was able to get an account without any credit checks (which was just as well as I have a unfortunate record). In the account I have an enveloppe system that lets me put money aside so that my standing orders always get paid. It means the money is ring-fenced. Clever. My bills get paid which is a releif. I don't have to worry about that. On the down side you have a small ATM charge (75p from memory) and if you wantot pay in cash you need to use PayPoint. Overall I would really recommend this company. They seem to be going to take on the banks, and that in itself would be a nice change. I read somewhere that Ffrees had one of the guys who set up 1st Direct bank working there, which would make me think they are pretty serious. Overall I give them 5 stars. If they keep on adding new stuff I will want to increase this to 6 (but you can't here!)

It's completely free
