Never had any issues with my current account - would recommend. I've been with them for 15 years and they provide a much better experience than my previous high street bank. I was previously with, and employed by, another bank who I had constant issues with. I would recommend Barclays for in branch and over the phone customer help

Fraud protection is spot on

High street banks should be confined to the history books. They take in our money and then take risks with it and go bankrupt. Every time I withdraw money from the cash machine I'm asked if I want a paper receipt to enter into a competition to win football tickets. I hate football. Why would I want football tickets. Why do they still sponsor football when they were teetering on the edge of collapse and had to be bailed out. I makes me cross. Then they have the cheek to lecture the public on responsible borrowing. They don't support small businesses and put nothing into the economy. Last time I was in the bank I was standing in the wrong queue and was humiliated by the bank clerk. Signposting was poorly positioned.

My account works because I manage it myself

Only works because I am solvent. If I wasn't it would be different

I rarely use my Barclaycard but it's very reassuring to know I have it there in my wallett ready for use should I need it. Barclaycard keeps me updated every month via email about my account status which is also reassuring, as one always worries about fraudsters using one's account. It has contactless payment on it but I've never used it and to be honest would have preferred not to have had it, but wasn't given the choice.

Reliable, good communications, trustworthy

Contactless payment on card automatically.

I use Barclays for both personal and business banking and have never had any problems - I pay money in and take it out when I need it, its really great. Again my review is "a little short" - which makes me think what else can there be to say about e experiences with a bank, its the only bank I have ever used which is probably a good thing in itself.

I have had my account with Barclays for 40 years now and through the years have changed my account to cover various extras. It now now just an account with an overdraft. The level of that overdraft is suitable for my needs. I pay no charges for 'extras'. My direct debit and standing orders go out with no bother and should there be any problem Barclays staff are always happy to help. In branch staff are courteous, knowledgable and make me feel welcome

I moved to Barclays because of their combined mortgage offset account & pegged mortgage to 0.5% above base-rate so this has served me well for a number of years & this product, at this kind of rate, is sadly no longer available. Overall service has been good although like most banks there's a reasonable amount of potential cross-selling which can be perceived as pressure & can 'waste' time for all parties.

I have held a current account with Barclay's for over twenty years. I have found them to be extremely reliable. I have never experienced problems with my account or the services offered by them. Their online banking service and website are great. The online banking website has recently been updated. The web page is easy to navigate around and actions such as making cash transfers and managing direct debits are simple and straightforward. Online banking is secure, thanks to the chip and pin device supplied free if charge. My experience in Barclay's branches is good. Staff are friendly and eager the help. I have never felt the need to shift my account. Like most current accounts interest rates are pretty poor at the moment. So the trick is to move surplus cash to a savings account.

Great, reliable service from a trusted bank.

Poor interest rates.

Took this out about 15 years ago & got what I thought was a good deal, 0.5% above base-rate. Luckily this has proven to be the case given all the banks & mortgage problems/toxic deals & financial crisis over the last several years. This has provided a relaxing time because I've not needed to look for a better deal each year or periodically which under other circumstances I may have done. It's basically luck & getting the best deal at the time, I feel sorry for the younger generation trying to get on the property ladder & having to settle for what by comparison seems a poor deal. That said I did experience a mortgage rate well into double figures in the late seventies/early eighties with inflation running at 12+% etc.
