Customer service is great, not had any problems with the Bank of Scotland. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I didn't receive my new card before my old one expired which was inconvenient but the problem was easily rectified and This May have been due to my recent change of address but staff were happy to help and I've not had any other issues.

I have been with this bank for 36 years since I moved to Hamilton, South Lanarkshire in 1976. I have never needed to complain about anything and the service has always been good and the staff very pleasant, friendly and helpful. I chose it originally because it was situated in a good position next to the bus station where I get my bus but I am glad I did and I would recommend it to anyone.

For the first time in my life, I am writing a review- the customer service today was that good. The agent, unprompted, credited my account £65 for having to deal with an admin issue while on holiday and to cover the cost of the long distance call. I have banked with them for years and today reminds me as to why I have been faithful.

I have only traded a few times in the past few years so can only go on what happened then-I had absolutely no problems with buying or selling shares, everything went through smoothly & any hiccups were sorted out without any hassle-really no more to say but would recommend them to anyone-not a lot more to say on the subject

I like this account as I get £5 per month for paying in £1000 or more each month which is more than I get in savings interest. They offer cash back deals with certain retailers although I've yet to use this yet as they haven't been places I go to. Their overdraft fees are high but you have a days grace to ensure money is in the account before incurring charges

I would recommend The Bank of Scotland. Their Customer Services team have been exemplary in any situation that required professional friendly assistance. There many branches are modern and have all up to date depositing machines and their online facilities are easily accessible. Cheques are still accepted which is a plus. Security paramount and staff well trained polite and helpful. I am happy with my current account account being with the above provider and have been so for a number of years.

On line banking easy to follow.

Customer service is excellent. The bank I use has very friendly, helpful, obliging staff. Always smiling and cheerful. Makes visiting the bank a pleasant experience. I have been with the Bank of Scotland for several years, was not the result of a search, I just went to the bank and opened an account, no problems. I am certainly happy with the bank and would wholeheartedly recommend it.

Bank of Scotland Ultimate Rewards Current Account

Recommended by weemoonunit

It's a good current account offering added benefits of standard worldwide travel insurance, mobile phone insurance, ?300 interest free overdraft and other extra's for a ?15 fee, ?10 for those paying over ?1000 into your account on a monthly basis once you deduct your ?5 monthly reward. It is a little more expensive than other banks and only works out slightly cheaper when you take off your ?5 reward. The service received in branch has always been very good, their telephone banking service is limited in what they can do for you but can generally deal with basic customer queries and their online service is very good and the fast payment service is excellent as payments have generally taken no more than a couple of hours. I'm not sure if they continue to offer this but on opening the account I was given ?50 as a sort of bonus. I've never been charged any fee's but I think they are pretty standard. Overdraft facility is only good up to ?300 as this is interest fee, however if you go for an overdraft higher than that and use it you will be charge ?1 per day for every day you are over the ?300 free facility (up to a certain amount and thereafter different fees may apply), this means that you will pay the same fees for ?301 into your overdraft as you would ?750 into your overdraft, whereas an interest based account (rather than a fixed rate fee) may be cheaper.

Online banking service, faster payment service, rewards package

Might not be best for those wanting a large overdraft facility

Since Halifax became involved the service has become less customer friendly. I have held acc. since 1984 so am a loyal customer which does not count for much these days. I would suggest that there are better accounts but there is nothing wrong with the account as such. useful internet service. £5 reward each month for the account I have - not sure if it is still available to new customers
