Thankfully, not had to use their service yet. Things I like: the fact that I am covered, not the car, making it cost efficient for our two-car household; the competitions and offers available only to AA members. I was really annoyed when The AA automatically renewed my breakdown cover: fair enough, they had sent a letter, however we were away at the time, and it had auto-renewed by the time we got back, at significantly higher prices than their new members' fees, and the RAC / Green Flag, etc.

The AA have always been quick to respond, very helpful and try to offer money saving tips with regards to motoring. When my battery was flat they arrived within 20 minutes and I was back on the road within an hour. I was also given advice with regards to what may have been causing the battery fault. On this occasion it was correctly diagnosed. Both call takers and the responder were polite and courteous.

I have to say for all the years I've had AA breakdown cover, the service (fortunately only ever had to use it a couple of times) has been fantastic. The only thing I would advise is that when renewing, always ring up and negotiate... never be complacent and settle for the renewed and hiked up premium! The mechanics have always been really helpful and without trying to sell or suggest other AA products while you're in a crisis. Can't really fault them!

Having returned from a weekend away to find my car wouldn't start, I called out the AA. They attended quickly - around 30mins - I was at home so other than the inconvenience there was no emergency - and they were able to sort out the problem quickly and offer advice with regard to a new battery. The only tiny issue was that the mechanic said he could have replaced the battery for me but didn't have the particular one I needed in the van. He did however give me a rough idea of cost for when I went to the garage. Very happy with the service.

I have only had to call out AA when my car would not start at home. Phoned lady was very helpful, said there in an hour, Within 30 min gentleman called, was polite, helpful, and sorted the problem. Thet contact me regularly with other offers, been a member 10 years, and home start is now complimentary to me as a long customer, To me the no 1 breakdown service

Friendly rapid breakdown service. Been with AA for many years & had breakdown cover. Now all family (3 grown-up daughters) have cover for extra subscription, which has come in very useful when their (rather older) cars breakdown for one reason or another. Though pricey we as a family have had our money's worth. Can't tell you any more, how much do you want me to write? An essay???

Be sure you review what your buying. I have been an AA member for more years than I care to remember. Each year though my policy gets more expensive as they keep trying to sell me GOLD membership, what I don't need. This year I slimmed it right back and boy did I save some money. I do find AA expensive, loyalty certainly isn't rewarded so shop around. Also be careful your not on automatic renewal as I got caught out by this one year. Customer service is good and I have been pleased when having to call them out, they do seem to go the extra mile to help you out, so for the AA man/woman on the ground 10 out of 10.

My years membership came free with my new Vauxhall car so I'm very happy . I hope I won't need their services but I'm happy that should I need them they will be there in my hour of need . My daughter recently had to use them when she broke down with her 3 kids in her car on the school run and they were great ! They were very quick and especially helpful because she had a baby in the car

I suspect that it was sheer coincidence but - a short while ago I broke down on a busy bypass slip road. I was getting my mobile to ring and the AA knocked on my window! The mechanic had seen the sticker and realised I'd got a problem. My car sorted in record time and I got home within fifteen minutes of my usual time! Usually though they come out as you'd expect and also ring someone for you to let them know what's going on. Priority to people with young children and women alone.

although I haven't broken down lately, it is always very reassuring to know that I can contact the AA if I do. They usually are able to be with you within 30 minutes which now it is winter is good to know. Also being a woman who travels on her own quite frequently I know they can be trusted. The AA are the ones to use if you are looking for breakdown cover
