We ordered online and received a confirmation email straightaway . Installation took about 3 weeks as they use BT engineers to install a new phone line, then within 3 days the router was sent out. We waited for a confirmation email to tell us the broadband service is live. Then its a case of plug and play. So far so good. my speed is approx 27Mb. They have so many negative feedback i wanted to add some positive feedback.

Signed up with Plusnet to change from talktalk! Plusnet sorted it all out for me. Had a few teething problems with the Fibre due to the quality of my phone line. Plusnet sorted all this out and put new cables on the side of my house and even put in a brand new socket in a better location! Great customer service when I called. Speed is now faster than I was quoted. Super Happy

I think they are brilliant, about to install a second line, they are always polite, helpful and friendly.Slow broadband can be due to a rubbish BT line or exchange..or even an old or overloaded computer.
I have had the most horrendous problems with BT and Talk Talk.. never being able to speak to anyone in this country who could understand the network in the UK. Plusnet tells you when you are about to exceed your broadband allowance. BT were rude and unhelpful until they thought I was going to leave when they suddenly couldn't do enough to help, likewise Talk Talk. Pity they didn't care when you are a customer.
Plusnet do care and continue to do so.

We chose Plusnet because their basic package offers great value for money - we live in a rural area and our broadband is so slow that there is no point in paying for high speed internet access. The customer service is mainly excellent, but falls down if there is a line fault which involves calling in BT (of which they are a part)

Only ever had Plusnet for Broadband so can't really compare. They're open to negotiation on prices and packages. When you phone for help they answer quite quickly, and you speak to an English speaker who is based in the UK. Also, the people you get through to are intelligent and able to make their own decisions.

Plusnet - Great value rates but no reimbursement for loss of service due to router failure

Great rates
Poor service when hardware failure occurs

Plusnet router decided to break when I needed to use my internet at home the most - as I had taken a week off work to sort out finances and submit my tax return online.

Plusnet support discovered my router had broken, and was under warranty so a new one would be sent out - but not for 3-5 days. Router did not arrive within 5 days and I was told no reimbursement for a week's loss of service due to router failure could be made.

Plusnet are very good at setting up the broadband account. They were very efficient at getting us started up. We have had a problem a couple of times with the service and these issues were dealt with swiftly. Their customer services are excellent and you are able to get through to them on the phone easliy, unlike other broadband providers!

English speaking call centre
Insistant on payment, even from the critically ill. No leeway at all

I used them as they were cheap with an English call centre. I recommended them to my disabled step mother and mum and step dad. They hounded my step mum, despite my calls to them to say she was seriously ill in a home and had not used (but had paid for )broadband for over a year and would they cancel. Instead, they sent the bailiffs round as I did not know her password and she 'would not write or phone'. And when they constantly over 3 years hashed my dads broadband and he left, they have constantly hounded him for his direct debit details (he is 87) even after giving him a mac code.

Plusnet Value Broadband -- one of the best for more rural areas

I admit to jumping ship from Plusnet about a month ago, but not because I was unhappy. (An integrated deal from another provider that suited us better overall.) It seems to be one of the best overall providers for those in more rural areas.

I signed up after moving house, where the estimated broadband speed was 0.5Mbps. Almost none of the big-name providers offered their service at the headline price here, all saying "oh, you're not in our network area, but we can offer you our alternative service at three times the advertised price" -- a fact of life that may be lost on city folk who have endless choice of low-cost providers. I was pleasantly surprised with a speed of approximately 4Mbps! I had planned to move to a wireless provider in the area after seeing the advertised speeds, but this proved to be sufficient. Whilst they charged more (£11.99 vs £6.49) because I was not in a 'low cost' area, this trumped most other providers' 'non-lost-cost' offerings by around £10/month.

Reliability was fairly good, and we did once phone up because of repeated short-lived outages, but these seemed to fix themselves. I spoke to a friendly chap to discuss cancellation, because a package deal elsewhere suited us better overall, and he was happy to see my situation although offered me a deal that undercut my existing tariff in order to persuade me to stay! I will strongly consider returning after my new 18-month contract expires.

I find Plusnet excellent. I do not have great IT skills but I am never made to feel a fool when I phone them up about another problem i have created. All the staff who have helped me are patient explaining slowly what I need to do. Calls are answered quickly too and I never feel rushed. I have no hesitation in recommending them :)
