What Are Experts?

by from money.co.uk

Experts are members of the money.co.uk community who represent a financial company or belong to a financial organisation.

As such, they will often be professionally qualified and have expertise in a particular area of finance or money management.

Experts don’t work for money.co.uk and they don’t get paid to answer questions.

Instead, we invite Experts to join the money.co.uk community so they can share their knowledge and experience with others.

Their input is intended to compliment the invaluable information that’s already being shared within our community by providing professional insight and expertise on money-related issues.

Who can become an Expert?

We select Experts to post in the money.co.uk community who we believe are appropriately qualified to answer questions within their Areas of Expertise.

To become an Expert within the money.co.uk community you need to represent a financial company or money-management organisation, and hold relevant professional qualifications (as appropriate).

Experts also have to agree to our terms and conditions that ban them from using the money.co.uk community as a sales tool. They are allowed to mention their own products or services where it's relevant to do so, but only as part of an impartial, informative answer to a question.

Only those that meet our criteria and agree to our terms and conditions can successfully become an Expert.

What does an Expert do?

An Expert will use their professional knowledge and experience to answer questions within the money.co.uk community.

However, they are not able to provide individual financial advice in response to a question as they don’t have the information they need to do so.

For this reason, an Expert's answers should be taken as general guidance only and should not be followed without further research that confirms their suggestions represent the best course of action for your personal financial circumstances.

If you would like to engage an Expert's services and ask them to advise on your individual situation you can contact them directly via a PM within the money.co.uk community.

How can I spot an Expert?

Experts are easy to spot in the money.co.uk community as their avatars and aliases appear differently to those of other members. Here’s how:

An Expert’s company logo will be displayed below their avatar on every post they make.

Their company name will be posted alongside their alias so that it's easy for you to see who they represent. For example, 'by Hannah from money.co.uk'.

The Expert badge will appear on their profile page alongside information about the position they hold within their company, details of any relevant professional qualifications they have, and a list of their Areas of Expertise. Information about their Areas of Expertise and the company they represent will also be included on their avatar overlay.

How do you become an Expert?

If you represent a financial or money-management company or organisation you can apply to become an Expert in the money.co.uk community.

Our article Why become an Expert? explains more about how you can get involved.

Hello miss hannah I would like to know how to find the list of Experts and how can I find the questions they have answered. Thank you

Hi indogirl,

At the moment we don't have a list of Experts that you can search but this is something that we'll look to add in the future.

In terms of getting your questions answered by an Expert the best advice I can give you is to simply post them in Q&A so that you'll be able to benefit from the knowledge and experience of our community members as well as that of Experts.

Hello again Miss Hannah and thank you so much for your reply - I would like to say that I like this site very much. Unfortunately I do not have enough knowledge about money matters to answer the questions that people ask but I like to see the questions and I read the answers especially from Miss Fruity and Mister Snoopy who are very willing to answer people based on their own experiences and knowledge. I think they are Experts because the answers they give are always very thoughtful, useful and wise. I think you should classify them as Experts because of their wisdom and because they are also very devoted to money.co.uk.

Thank you
