my money Posting Guidelines

These guidelines are here for your benefit – they help to make the my money community a friendly and accepting place for you to find the information and support you need to make the most of your money.

When you create a my money profile you are agreeing to adhere to these guidelines.

Please take a minute to familiarise yourself with them before you post:

  • We're based in the UK so please post in English only so that everyone understands what you're saying.
  • Debates are welcome but please keep it friendly.
  • Respect others' opinions even if you disagree.
  • Think before you type - it's easy for completely neutral comments to be misinterpreted once they're in print.
  • Don't post personal insults, sarcastic slights or criticism about another member.
  • Use my money as part of your decision making process but always do your own research when it comes to making financial decisions.
  • Feel free to reference external resources that you think would be useful to other members but don't use my money to advertise or promote any products, services or companies, or spam.
  • Don't post in all capitals - OTHERS WILL ASSUME YOU ARE SHOUTING.
  • Make sure that you are the sole owner and author of any content or image you post - it's your responsibility to check the copyright.
  • Don't post unlawful, libelous, harassing, abusive, threatening, defamatory or obscene language, images or messages.
  • Keep it clean - if you feel the need to use language that may offend please replace letters with symbols i.e. £%$£&!
  • Don't deliberately post anything that you know, or believe to be, untrue.
  • Don't pretend to be someone you are not - whether that's another member of the site,a representative of an organisation or something else.
  • Don't re-post the same message more than once.
  • Don't let anyone else use or post using your my money profile.
  • Don't post under more than one my money profile or alias.
  • Understand that you are personally responsible & will be held liable for the content of any posts you make - so please be careful what you say.
  • Don't be deliberately antagonising to others.
  • Don't use the site to collect or store information about other members.
  • Don't post spam - this includes chain letters, junk mail, unauthorised advertising or any other unsolicited mass e-mail or post.
  • Don't submit any post that contains worms, viruses, or other harmful file, code or programme.
  • Don't openly post complaints about or criticism of money.co.uk - let us know instead & we'll see what we can do to fix the problem. Please send a message to 'Hannah' within my money or email :
  • Remember that you have control over who sees your posts - check that you are happy with your privacy settings.
  • It's your responsibility to keep your identity anonymous should you wish.
  • Don't openly share information about your address and/or the account details or reference numbers of any financial products you own.
  • Understand that we do not endorse the opinions, beliefs or claims posted by members on my money and don't accept any responsibility for the accuracy or truthfulness or any information or advice given.

Good guide as always. And I have read many and feel the Money team need to be congratulated about the use of plain English and avoiding grammaticals and typos - which of course is expected but they can slip through. But not here!
