These are the terms and conditions governing the my money Beta Challenge.
Your use of my money, and any activity within the my money community, will be taken as acceptance of these terms, so please take a moment to familiarise yourself with them.
- Entrants must be aged 18 or over and a resident in the UK.
- Purchase is not necessary.
- Employees and the immediate families of money.co.uk, their agents, or anyone professionally connected with the implementation of the my money beta challenge are not entitled to enter.
- Success in the my money beta challenge will be measured by the 'kudos' rank of each member when the beta challenge closes. 'Kudos' is determined by the quality and number of contributions made to my money by each member during the beta challenge and based on a point system. Points are awarded for quality contributions to my money. Further details about the point system used to build kudos is available on this page.
- We will use an automated activity monitoring system to detect and identify any member(s) abusing the point system so as to increase their chances of winning the my money beta challenge. This spam activity includes, but is not limited to, posts made just to earn points without providing any valuable contribution to the my money community, or ‘unnatural’ activity between a group of members. Any member (s) found to be engaging in spam posting will be disqualified from the my money beta challenge and will not be eligible to win any of the rewards on offer.
- The my money beta challenge closes at midnight on 28th August 2010.
- The 3 my money members that are ranked in 1st, 2nd and 3rd position on the my money beta challenge leaderboard when the beta challenge closes - and therefore who have achieved the highest 'kudos' rank by earning points for quality contributions - will be selected as winners. The winners’ activity will also be subject to a manual review in order to confirm that no spam techniques have been adopted.
- The 3 members chosen as ‘winners’ (ranking in 1st, 2nd and 3rd position at the close of the my money beta challenge) will be eligible for their choice of 1 reward from the following: a luxury break in Barcelona, a 32Gb iPad, a 32Gb iPhone 4, a 42” LCD TV and £300 cash.
- The my money member who scored the highest number of points - and who has the highest kudos - overall will be given first choice of the my money rewards. The member who finished in 2nd position will then be asked to choose from the remaining 4 rewards, and the member who finished in 3rd position will get to select their prize from the 3 remaining rewards. In the instance that the final results produce a tie – either between 2 or more of the my money members chosen as winners, or between members ranking in 3rd and 4th position for example, the my money member who has been thanked the most number of times will be selected as the higher ranking member. Should both members have been thanked an equal number of times, the reward will be given to one or the other at random. This decision shall be final and non-negotiable.
- The my money members who rank in positions 4 to 103 on the my money leaderboard when the my money beta challenge closes will each receive a top DVD as a runner up prize.
- The 3 winners and 100 runners-up will be notified by email on the 31st August, 2010 – receipt of this email must be acknowledged, by email, within 2 weeks, otherwise the reward will be considered forfeited and the my money member in the next highest position will be named as a replacement. my money members chosen as winners and runners-up will only be eligible to receive 1 prize; either one of the top rewards, or a runner-up DVD depending on their kudos ranking.
