From 1st April, 2010 BT is making some important changes to your home phone calling plan that you should be aware of.

You might have already received a letter through the post from BT informing you about changes to your phone service. In case you missed the important information hidden away in the small print, here's what you need to know:
Daytime and evening call period
The first change to your home calling plan affects the evening call period which has been changed from 6pm-6am to 7pm-7am. This means that only calls made after 7pm will now be charged at the cheaper evening rate.
If you have an unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan, the change to the call period also means that your inclusive calls will now start at 7pm instead of 6pm.
Any calls to mobiles, international numbers and 0845 and 0870 numbers will all be affected by this change.
Call set-up fee
Another change will affect the call set-up fee for non-inclusive calls from landlines and for non-inclusive Broadband Talk calls. As from 1st April 2010 these will see an increase from 9.3p to 9.9p per call.
Daytime UK calls
The cost of your daytime calls is also set to rise from 5.4p to 5.9p. However, this change does not apply to BT Basic, Light User Scheme and In-Contact Plus customers.
Unlimited anytime plans
If you currently have an Unliimited Anytime Plan then the above changes will not affect inclusive calls as long as they do not last longer than one hour.
