Car insurance provider Diamond has issued a number of exercise tips for drivers.
Diamond has offered exercise tips for motorists after releasing research revealing that the majority of drivers spend an average of 80 minutes behind the wheel each day.
The women's car insurance specialist revealed that 84 percent of commuters spend an hour and 20 minutes driving each day.
Sian Lewis, managing director of Diamond, explained that spending such a large proportion in a stationary position could have possible health implications.
"Sedentary lifestyles are doing nothing for our physical fitness. All too often when driving in the UK, and especially going to and from work, we find ourselves stuck in traffic queues," she said. "These exercises are easy to do while you are at a standstill for any length of time and are great for easing the stress too."
Diamond worked with the University of Wales Institute Cardiff to develop the ten-point exercise plan which includes movements to improve posture and tighten muscles. Facial exercises, shoulder circles and calf stretches are also included.
Research carried out by Diamond earlier this year found that the number of 4x4s in the UK has more than doubled over the past ten years. The insurance provider found that the majority of 4x4s are registered in the south-east, with Ashford in Kent home to over 15 percent of the UK's four-wheel drives.
