The Cheapest Long Term Balance Transfer Deal ExpiryMoney Saving Tip
Type: Rate
Expiry: 30th Sep 2008 (Expired)

Get a market leading 6.5% on your credit card balances for life.

What's the deal?

Barclaycard are offering a market leading 6.5% on 'life of balance transfers' with their Barclaycard Platinum with Purchases & Balance Transfer card, giving you the opportunity to cut the cost of your credit card repayments over the long term.

What's more, there's no handling fee to pay, potentially making this card the ideal solution if you're looking to clear your credit card balances with the help of a fixed rate deal.

Barclaycard are also offering 0% on purchases for 10 months with this card, although any new balances accrued during this time will attract interest at a rate of 16.9% APR after the introductory offer expires.

However, as an added bonus, you can 6 months free gadget and personal possessions cover for free if you apply for a card online before 5th September, 2008.

How do I benefit?

To take advantage of this market leading offer you will first need to apply for a Barclaycard Platinum with Purchases and Long Term Balance Transfer card.  Do bear in mind that you need to be over 21 with an annual income of over £10,000 to be eligible.

You will then need to make sure you transfer any balances to the card within 60 days so that they attract the 6.5% rate.

Expiry

The 6.5% is a life of balance transfer rate.  This means that any balances transferred within the first 60 days of account opening will attract interest at this rate until you have cleared them completely.

Conditions

This card is available to new Barclaycard customers only.

The 6.5% applies to transferred balances up to £5,000.  A rate of 6.9% will apply to balances of £5,000 or more.

n.b. While some other cards offer a lower life of balance APR, Barclaycard currently offers the cheapest deal because there is no balance transfer fee.
