You pay for your car insurance but do you know what you're covered for? Here are a list of questions to help you find out.

When looking for car insurance, most of us tend to focus on finding the cheapest car insurance available, without considering the policy details. However, the level of cover does vary from policy to policy, so it is worth checking what you're getting for your money.
Below is a list of questions you may want to ask when deciding which car insurance policy to take:
No Claims Bonus Protection
Are you able to protect your existing No Claims Bonus? If so, what are the terms? i.e. how many claims can be made before you would lose your No Claims Bonus, and over what period?
Free Replacement Car
Is a replacement car provided if your car is being repaired following an accident?
Claim Procedure
Are you able to make a claim over the Internet or by telephone? Can claims be automatically approved during a phone call?
Windscreen Cover
Will the windows in your car be replaced if damaged? If so, does this affect your No Claims Bonus and is there an excess cost charged?
Stereo Equipment
Is stero equipment covered? If so, what is the maximum that can be claimed and is there an excess cost charged?
Excess
What is the excess charged when you make a claim? Are you able to increase your excess in order to reduce the premium?
Legal Expense Cover
Can you increase your premium in order to insure against the cost of taking legal action following an accident?
Overseas Cover
Are you covered for driving your car abroad? If so, how many days are covered?
